The “Medical Assisting with Phlebotomy Technician Program” trains students to assist healthcare professionals by carrying out fundamental clinical and administrative tasks in hospitals, clinics, and medical centers. They are the members of a medical team that includes registered nurses and physicians. This program curriculum includes medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, and immunology fundamental concepts. Law and ethics, as well as effective communication skills, are taught to students. Students are taught the fundamentals of medical equipment and devices, and also patient care management. Medical records, insurance, patient preparation, and basic laboratory procedures are also covered in this complete course. Students are also educated and trained in the field of phlebotomy. What’s more, our well-planned and designed program provides clinical externships, which are necessary for certification.
Students who successfully complete this training program will be awarded a Certificate of Completion from our State-approved College. Students will also have the opportunity to take the National Certification Exams for becoming a Certified Medical Assistant and Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
Our program’s goals are to get students ready to help doctors by meeting the clinical and administrative requirements of a hospital, office, or medical center. Clinical and administrative training is not just limited to the above-mentioned services or activities, but also;
- Assisting with physical examinations and surgical procedures
- Taking the patients’ medical histories and vital signs and keeping a record of them.
- Training in phlebotomy, blood draws, as well as injections
- Laboratory procedures
- Techniques for placing an EKG (Electrocardiography) and recording
- Learn how to Schedule appointments
- Filling out insurance forms
- Record & Office Management
- Familiar with Billing and coding fundamentals
- Having a basic knowledge of Word processing & spreadsheet
Students who efficiently complete all required courses in accordance with the college’s Satisfactory Academic Requirements and meet their financial obligations towards the college will be awarded a diploma.
- The National Certification Exams for Certified Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy Technician will be offered by NCCT to all graduates.
Any day of the week is applicable for students’ enrollment. The applicant will be notified about the next start date when they enroll. Acceptance into a program requires a high school diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), a college transcript, or an equivalent.
