The purpose of the surgical assistant training program is to prepare students to assist & support surgeons during operations. As per the applicable state laws, a surgical first assistant may assist surgeons with incision and site closure, tissue manipulation or removal, implanting surgical devices or drains, suctioning the surgical site, placing catheters, clamping or cauterizing vessels or tissue, and dressing the surgical site. The surgical assistant program will utilize a variety of instructional methods that not only prepare students for positions as surgical assistants at the entry level but also offer opportunities for career advancement to those already working in the field. Graduates will have the better knowledge, abilities, and experience required to start working as a surgical 1st assistant at the end of this training program, which will complement the operating room’s efficiency and improve patient outcomes.
Students who want to become surgical assistants will get training through a variety of instructional methods, such as online and campus instruction, laboratory work, and clinical experience. Our well-developed Surgical Assistant Training Program will emphasize comprehensive surgery knowledge in addition to perioperative and postoperative skills. The role and functions of the surgical assistant are made clear & emphasized, but not just limited to tissue handling, suturing, hemostasis, and also surgical instruments.
