Stellar Career College Indiana

Stellar Career College provides academic and non-academic student services designed to support student progress, retention, completion, and preparation for employment. Student Services works alongside campus administration, the Education Department, Program Directors, faculty, Financial Aid, Career Services, and Learning Resources.

Students are introduced to the services available to them during orientation. Information is also provided through the College Catalog, the LMS student dashboard, LMS notices, email communications, classroom and virtual-class visits, advising sessions, and direct communication with College personnel.

Students who need assistance are encouraged to contact Student Services or the appropriate College department at any point during their enrollment.

Academic Advising

Academic advising is available throughout a student’s enrollment. Advising may address academic progress, attendance, Satisfactory Academic Progress, program requirements, externship or clinical readiness, graduation requirements, and other academic concerns.

Advising may be initiated by the student, faculty, the Program Director, or administration. Students are encouraged to request advising as soon as a concern arises rather than waiting for it to affect their progress.

Tutoring and Academic Support

Tutoring is available at no additional charge to students who need supplemental academic assistance. Students may request tutoring through their instructor, Program Director, or designated academic personnel.

Where applicable, the College may also provide supervised laboratory practice or additional skills-training opportunities to reinforce classroom and laboratory instruction.

Testing Services

Testing requirements, make-up examinations, competency assessments, remediation, and retesting procedures vary by academic program.

Students should refer to the applicable Program Handbook for specific testing and make-up examination requirements. Questions concerning testing procedures may be directed to the instructor or Program Director.

Learning Resource Services

Students have access to learning resources that support their academic programs, including library and electronic resources, instructional materials, technology resources, and other academic support tools.

Information regarding Learning Resource Services is provided during orientation and through the LMS and other student communications.

Student Retention, Attendance and Early Intervention

The College monitors student academic progress and attendance to identify students who may need additional assistance. Students experiencing academic, attendance, financial, or personal difficulties may be contacted by Student Services so that support can be arranged early.

Attendance Monitoring

Student attendance is monitored in accordance with the College’s Attendance Monitoring Policy. Students who demonstrate patterns of irregular attendance, or who fall below the College’s required attendance standard, may be contacted for advising and intervention. The College may request an explanation, supporting documentation, or an attendance improvement plan.

Leave of Absence

Students experiencing circumstances that require a temporary interruption in their education may request a Leave of Absence in accordance with the College’s Leave of Absence Policy.

A student must submit a written, signed, and dated request stating the reason for the leave, unless unforeseen circumstances prevent advance submission. An approved Leave of Absence, including any additional leaves, may not exceed 180 days within a 12-month period.

Students are provided information regarding return requirements and the applicable academic and financial implications. Students who fail to return as scheduled are processed in accordance with the College’s withdrawal, refund, and financial aid policies.

Leave of Absence requests may be submitted to the attendance contact listed below or to the student’s Program Director.

Life Skills and Coping Resources

Stellar Career College provides students with a required Life Skills and Coping Resources course delivered through the Learning Management System (LMS). The course addresses:

  • Time management and study habits
  • Stress management
  • Balancing school, employment, and family responsibilities
  • Communication and professionalism
  • Goal setting and other life skills appropriate to postsecondary students

Completion of this course is required prior to placement in a clinical or externship setting, as applicable to the student’s program.

Students experiencing personal challenges that require assistance beyond the scope of the College may also be referred to appropriate outside agencies or qualified community resources.

Financial Aid Services and Financial Literacy

The Financial Aid Department assists eligible students with financial aid applications, required documentation, eligibility questions, awards, disbursements, student loans, and other applicable financial aid matters.

Financial Literacy and Personal Financial Planning

Financial Aid personnel may provide information regarding educational expenses, budgeting, responsible borrowing, student loan obligations, repayment, financial aid eligibility, and personal financial planning related to the student’s educational costs.

Financial Aid contact information is communicated to students through orientation, College communications, and student resources. Students are encouraged to reach out whenever they have questions concerning their financial aid, or if they experience changes that may affect their ability to meet educational expenses.

Career Services

Career Services assists students and graduates in preparing for employment in their field of study. Services may include:

  • Resume and cover-letter assistance
  • Job-search guidance
  • Interview preparation
  • Employer referrals
  • Externship support
  • Professional-development assistance
  • Post-graduation employment assistance

Career Services begins during enrollment and may continue following graduation.

The College does not guarantee employment.

Counseling and Referral Services

Stellar Career College does not provide professional psychological counseling or treatment.

Students who require professional counseling, mental health assistance, substance-abuse assistance, or other services outside the scope of College personnel may contact Student Services for information regarding appropriate community agencies or qualified outside providers.

Students experiencing an immediate emergency should contact 911 or the appropriate emergency service.

Student Safety and Well-Being

The College is committed to maintaining a safe and supportive educational environment.

Students are provided information concerning campus safety, emergency procedures, Title IX, discrimination and harassment reporting, laboratory and clinical safety, and other matters affecting student well-being.

Students should promptly report safety concerns, injuries, threats, or emergencies to appropriate College personnel.

Housing, Transportation and Childcare

Housing

Stellar Career College does not provide student housing. Students are responsible for arranging their own housing. Students seeking assistance may contact Student Services for information regarding housing resources available within the surrounding community. The College does not guarantee the availability, cost, or suitability of outside housing.

Transportation

Stellar Career College does not provide student transportation. Students seeking assistance may contact Student Services for information concerning local public transportation, parking, and other transportation resources available in the surrounding area. Transportation arrangements remain the responsibility of the student.

Childcare

Stellar Career College does not provide childcare services. Students seeking assistance may contact Student Services for information regarding childcare resources available within the community. The College does not endorse or guarantee any outside childcare provider, and childcare arrangements remain the responsibility of the student.

Distance Education Student Services

Students enrolled in distance education or hybrid courses have access to Student Services comparable to those available to students attending on campus.

Students may access academic advising, Financial Aid, Career Services, Learning Resource Services, Student Services, and other support through the LMS, email, telephone, virtual meetings, and other approved communication methods.

The College also provides 24/7 LMS technical support to assist students with access to the online learning environment.

Student Feedback and Continuous Improvement

The College obtains student feedback through surveys administered at the end of each quarter through the LMS, and through other student communications and advising interactions.

Survey results and other student feedback are reviewed to identify areas of satisfaction, student needs, and opportunities for improvement. When areas requiring improvement are identified, the College may implement additional student communications, staff training, revised procedures, additional services, or other appropriate corrective actions.

How students are informed about services

Student Services information is not limited to the College Catalog. Students are informed of available services through:

  • Email and other College communications
  • Classroom and virtual-class visits
  • Academic and student advising
  • Direct communication with College departments

Students are encouraged to ask questions and seek assistance whenever academic or non-academic circumstances may affect their progress toward completion.
